1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using iFileTax services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using our services.

2. Description of Services

iFileTax provides online tax preparation, filing services, and related tools including:

  • DIY tax preparation software
  • AI-assisted tax guidance
  • CPA marketplace and matching services
  • Full-service tax preparation by licensed CPAs
  • Tax calculators and educational resources

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Review your tax return before submission
  • Comply with all applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Not use the service for any unlawful purpose

4. Accuracy Guarantee

We stand behind our calculations. If you pay an IRS or state penalty or interest due to an iFileTax calculation error, we will reimburse you for the penalty and interest, up to $10,000. This guarantee requires that you:

  • Provided accurate information to us
  • Filed your return before the applicable deadline
  • Paid for the applicable iFileTax product
  • Notify us within 30 days of receiving the penalty notice

5. Maximum Refund Guarantee

If you get a larger refund or smaller tax due from another tax preparation method using the same data, we will refund your iFileTax fees and pay you the difference up to $100.

6. Pricing and Payments

Prices are displayed before you file. Payment is required to submit your return to the IRS. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and payment from your tax refund (fees apply). All sales are final after filing, except as described in our refund policy.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, iFileTax shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, regardless of the cause of action. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for our services in the past 12 months.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of iFileTax services are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our services.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
